Manchester Airport has won the dubious award of being the 4th most expensive place to collect passengers from in the UK, according the the Huddersfield Daily paper.
You’ll be forking out £4 if you fancy collecting friends and family from the Manchester Airport 30 minute short stay.
However if you are simply dropping off you can enjoy that pleasure for free.
This news goes against our own experiences though, at the Jet2 desk we have had success of both dropping off and collecting for free, you have to be on your toes and stay in the car. Get family and friends on the mobile and make sure everyone is waiting ready to jump in – no kissing or pleasantries, but you’ll have saved £4.
Manchester Airport’s spokeman comments:
“Passengers arriving at Manchester Airport have a range of options when it comes to their onward journey. This includes bus, train, tram, taxi and being collected by a friend or relative.
“This traffic combined with the vehicles associated with our departing passengers means that the airport site is extremely busy. In order to keep vehicles from waiting in the drop off areas for security reasons and to manage capacity and ensure that traffic flows easily around the site we have separate areas for pick up and drop off.
“Our prices take account of a range of factors, from the cost of operation and industry benchmarks to congestion and environmental considerations.”
